Privacy policy
Effective 1 April 2019 · Last reviewed March 2019
The NYSF has two sections to its Privacy Policy. First, our corporate Privacy Policy, which discloses the personal information that we collect, the choices you can make about your personal information, and how we protect your information. Second is an extended policy, the National Youth Science Forum Privacy Policy, that explicitly deals with our information technology systems and the third-party service providers we use. The extended policy covers this website, our online newsletter Outlook, and our online store.
Our commitment
The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is required to comply with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, which regulate how organisations collect, use, disclose and store personal information, and how individuals may access and correct information held about them.
What we collect and why
We collect information you provide directly, for example when you apply to a program, subscribe to NYSF Outlook, or contact us. This may include your name, email, school and program preferences. We use it to deliver and improve our programs and events, communicate with you about applications and opportunities, and meet our legal, funding and reporting obligations.
Sharing
We never sell your information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run NYSF, under appropriate agreements. The extended policy details the third-party systems we use.
Your choices
You can update your details or unsubscribe at any time, and you may request access to, or correction of, the information we hold about you.
